Kataragama

One of Sri Lanka’s most sacred pilgrimage sites, Kataragama is a unique blend of Buddhist, Hindu, Muslim, and Vedda spiritual traditions. Devotees gather at the Kataragama temple complex for rituals and fire-walking ceremonies, especially during the Esala Festival. Located near Yala National Park, it’s where deep faith meets wild landscapes.
